Our goal is to help your child build a strong foundation and confidence, while enjoying the journey!
We can specifically design a curriculum for your child or help your child with homework.
We deliver highly interactive instruction combined with plenty of practice to enhance mastery and retention of skills.
We can help your child discover the joy of reading. We have an excellent curriculum to help your child master phonics and decode words. We will also familiarize them with sight words common to their grade level. We can work on reading comprehension, spelling and handwriting.
Please refer to our Early Learning page for details regarding our tutoring options and group classes in reading and math.
Our style of teaching is highly interactive, keeping your child engaged and motivated. We believe in building a firm foundation and good habits. We involve your child in the process of arriving at an answer. This way, they own the methodology and understand the “why?” We will also teach your child “how?” to systematically present their work on paper in order to help them organize their thoughts and minimize careless errors. Please visit our Philosphy page for more details.
We not only believe in preparing your child academically, but also feel it is essential to build their confidence through positive feedback, encouragement and fun games.

We would like to understand your goals for your child and their needs so we can best serve you.
We do not conduct formal assessments.
Children feel unnecessarily pressured and don’t always perform to their ability level during a formal assessment. We feel it also sets the wrong tone for tutoring. We want your child to view tutoring as an asset to them and not as another place they have to perform.
Option 1: We can effectively dive right into tutoring sessions and base our starting point off of our conversation with you and any feedback you can provide us from school teachers. We get started based on your information and your goals for your child and are able to dynamically assess your child as we work with them during the tutoring sessions.
Option 2: Many parents prefer to schedule an initial intake lesson. We get started based on your information and your goals for your child and are able to dynamically assess your child as we work with them during the tutoring session. It is an informal assessment/tutoring session. This allows us to determine a good starting point for your child, provides us with information needed to create a customized syllabus and helps us determine a good tutor to match your child with based on their personality and learning style.
We don’t like to make decisions based on answers on a sheet of paper. We feel it is imperative to understand your child’s actual thought processes in order to accurately assess their needs. During our tutoring sessions, the tutor is able to work with your child to pinpoint the reason why they are having trouble with a particular type of problem and dynamically alter the curriculum to meet your child’s exact needs.
When possible, we like to use the same workbooks/materials as used by your child’s school so that your child is best prepared to meet their teacher’s expectations.
We are able to use the curriculum of your choice, based on your individual goals. If needed, we are also available to communicate with your child’s teacher.
We not only dedicate ourselves during the session times with your child, but we go above and beyond: using our personal time to prepare in advance for each customized session, keeping you, the parents, informed every step of the way and also taking the time to communicate with your child’s teachers, if needed. We believe in fostering an integrated team environment to support your child, and we work hard to make that happen.
We believe that parental support is a key component in a child’s success. We like to keep you updated on your child’s progress and share with you any recommendations to further help your child succeed. We are there to help you meet your goals for your child.
We do not require long term commitments. You decide on a suitable schedule and only pay for four sessions at a time. Each session is 50 minutes of instruction after which the tutor takes the time to document the lesson for you, update your child’s personalized syllabus and create/upload customized materials targeted to help your child practice necessary skills between sessions.
Your child will have a consistent instructor who will be able to really understand your child’s unique learning style and help them to grow from session to session. Our instructors genuinely care for and believe in your child. So many parents have told us that their child sees their instructor as a mentor and a role model.
Drop-in centers may seem convenient, but having a different tutor for each session can actually be inefficient and even confusing for your child.
Our sessions are highly interactive and effective – no sitting quietly answering worksheets. Kids can do that at home…
We know that your child:
We keep the children motivated with positive feedback and educational games. Parents are welcome to join us by providing stickers or other small rewards for a session well spent. By using a combination rewards system between the tutor and the parents, the children feel even more motivated and it automatically increases parental involvement. Simple rewards like “If you get 5 stars, you get to choose a board game to play with your dad,” are an effective way for everyone to stay connected and make the entire process even more fun!
